Numbered 110 of 500, this single-owner IWC Big Pilot's 'Antoine De Saint Exupery' Limited Edition is offered as a full-set example and is accompanied by the box, outer box, warranty papers, booklets and Saint Exupery book. The watch shows some light signs of wear on the leather strap, and its condition is within the bounds of the seller’s ‘A’ grading.

This limited IWC Big Pilot is dedicated to Antoine De Saint Exupery, who was a pilot, and also acclaimed poet and writer who is best known for writing the novel ‘The Little Prince’. The watch has an impressive wrist presence with its rose gold construction and 46mm case. Legibility is a key consideration, with Large Arabic numerals marking the hours in a crisp white finish that contrast nicely with the striking sunburst brown dial. This limited 'Antoine De Saint Exupery' edition distinguishes itself through the stylised ‘A’ inscription at 9 o’clock, which represents the authors name. It also incorporates a contrasting power reserve sub-register for additional visual impact. Housed inside is the calibre IWC 511111 with an impressive 7-day power reserve. The watch is secured to the wrist via a factory leather strap with contrast stitching, and a signed rose gold deployant buckle.

IWC has a rich history when it comes to aviation watches. In the 1930s, the company created a pilot’s watch for the German air force with a massive 55mm case. This inspired the introduction of the Big Pilot series in 2002, which has become an integral part of IWC’s catalogue. A successful pilot both commercially and during World War II, it is clear IWC chose to honour Antoine de Saint Exupery with their Big Pilot model.
