Offered for auction from a trade seller, this Richard Mille RM005 from 2007 is presented along with its travel pouch and certificate. The rose gold case and clasp show some light marking, bringing the watch within the bounds of the seller’s ‘A’ grading. The vendor has indicated that the watch has been serviced in the past.

Introduced in 2004, the RM 005 brought a lot of innovation into the Richard Mille catalogue, kickstarting the brand’s continuous effort to go above and beyond. The instantly recognizable tonneau shape case measures just 37mm and is constructed from rose gold. The dial is, of course, skeletonized with graphic Arabic numerals and a vertically displayed date aperture. Housed inside the case is the calibre RM005 which dominates the face of the watch with its titanium construction and outer ring for the date. Fitted to the case is a black rubber strap, maximizing comfort on the wrist.

The Richard Mille RM005 was the first watch from the Swiss brand to incorporate an automatic movement. Interestingly, it is considered one of the simplest timepieces from the brand with its 3-hand and date orientation.
