Sell it with usPrepared for auction through a UK-based trade vendor, this Girard Perregaux Vintage 1945 is presented with its display box and official paperwork. The watch shows light hairline marks on the case and some creasing and wear on the inside of the strap. The vendor reports the watch is in good working order and has graded it ‘A’ for condition. The images appear consistent with that assessment.
Inspired by Girard Perregaux’s references crafted during the turn of the 20th century, this Vintage 1945 is finished in polished stainless steel, and measures a dainty 36mm in diameter. Housed within its rectangular case is a black dial, which is a source of visual intrigue thanks to its contrasting white outer track, and three chronograph complications denoting seconds, hours, and minutes at three, six, and nine o’clock respectively. Meanwhile, the Roman numeral hour markers and the black alligator strap with its Girard Perregaux-embossed clasp serve to amplify the watch’s classic aesthetic.
The reference is driven by Girard Perregaux’s patented GP3080 calibre. This automatic chronograph movement is equipped with a power reserve of 36 hours.
The Vintage 1945 is a reference to Girard Perregaux’s heritage and draws heavily on the watches it produced during the Art Deco period.
