This 2006 Patek Philippe Gondolo Calendario is auctioned through a private vendor and comes as a complete set. Included with the watch are its original display box and outer sleeve, documents including the factory-issue user manual and certificate of origin, plus a Patek Phillipe-made date adjustment tool. Now in its 16th year, the watch shows marks and swirls on the case and clasp, and its condition is consistent with the vendor’s ‘A’ grading.

Inspired by the Art Deco movement from the early 20th century, the stylish Patek Philippe Gondolo Calendario was launched in 2004. This watch is distinguishable from the standard Gondolo thanks to the day, date, and month complications positioned at the 10, 12, and two o’clock markers respectively. The reference retains the Gondolo line’s trademark cushion-form case, which measures 39mm in diameter and is finished in 18k white gold with a tasteful moon phase complication located at 6 o’clock. The silvered two-tone opaline dial boasts appliqué white gold dauphine hands and hour markers; the latter of which are a blend of batons and Arabic numerals. Attached to the case is a black alligator strap with a prong clasp, which only serves to enhance the watch’s streamlined Art Deco elegance.

The watch is powered by Patek Philippe’s 324 S QA LU 24H calibre, which is visible through the watch’s screw-down exhibition caseback. Featuring a striking 21k yellow gold rotor, this automatic movement has a power reserve of 45 hours and comprises 34 jewels.

The Gondolo line is named for the ‘Chronometro Gondolo’ watches created by Patek for the Brazilian jewellers Gondolo & Labouriau in Rio de Janeiro in 1902. Since then, Patek Philippe has adopted this name to define a range of watches with unusual (non-round) shapes and designs.

All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
