Sell it with usProduced in a limited series of 1000 pieces in 2006, this was the first of IWC’s successful ceramic range. The ‘Dopplechronograph’ name refers to the fact that the watch has a ‘split’ chronograph feature to allow the timing of two concurrent events or the recording of lap intervals.
IWC has an impressive history of installing complications on top of the reliable and widely used 7750 chronograph movement, from perpetual calendars with year indication to the split-chronograph used here.
Inspired by aircraft gauges, the hands and hour markers are large and highly visible. The date window reveals three dates at once with an indication for the current day in reference to cockpit altimeters.
The case and bezel are crafted in matte black ceramic with a stainless-steel case back. The strap is leather-backed Kevlar.
This watch is offered in overall excellent condition with box and papers but no instruction manual.
The case is in ‘as new condition’ with the adhesive protective sticker still in place on the case back. The crystal, dial and hands are in pristine condition. The titanium crown and pushers are unmarked.
The strap shows no wear marks with any creasing coming from it being fastened on its cushion. The buckle is in excellent condition.
The box and papers are in excellent condition, the fitted strap is XL, and an additional standard-length strap is enclosed along with a copy of IWC’s ‘Watch International’ magazine that details the watch on its launch.
This watch was last serviced in June 2019.
