Sell it with usNever afraid to break the mould, Michel Jordi’s eponymous brand are for a collector with a taste for the avant-garde. Offering two watches in one via a patented twist-lock system, the Oro Giallo is a moon-phase calendar watch that hides a mono-pusher chronograph.
Michel Jordi was founded in Geneva, Switzerland, in 1988. The company is known for making watches that have their own unique style. In 2004, they created the ‘Twins’ collection, which introduced a patented twist-lock system. The mechanism allows the watch to open like a fan, revealing an entirely different movement and display underneath - essentially offering two watches in one.
The ‘Twins’ models are not afraid to be different. They have an imposing presence on the wrist, as shown on the watch presented here in 18-carat yellow gold. Its top face displays the hours and minutes, with the date, moon phase, power reserve, and running seconds shown in sub-dials. Inside the case beats a 17-jewel manual wind calibre with a 38-hour power reserve.
Sliding the top around reveals a second face. It displays the time and a 30-minute chronograph and running seconds in sub-dials. Turning the watch over reveals a hand-wound chronograph movement activated and reset with a mono-pusher at 2 o’clock.
The watch is in excellent condition showing only minor signs of wear on the case. A contrast stitch leather strap and 18-carat yellow gold pin-buckle are included in the sale.
All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
