As the self-styled ‘Master of Complications’ you would expect a complex watch from Franck Muller. This Master Calendar ‘Magnum’ Chronograph has a lot going on, but the use of colour on the dial presents the information clearly and attractively.

Franck Muller describes himself as the ‘Master of Complications’ and here we see him in his element combining a triple calendar function with an automatic chronograph, all packed into his instantly recognisable 47 x 36mm contoured and beautifully curved stainless-steel case.

The intricately engine-turned dial is given added interest by the use of colour highlights. The red calendar track matches the red pointer hand, while the blue numerals on the seconds track pick up the sheen of the blued steel hands.

Powered by an automatic movement and water resistant to 50m the watch is secured to the wrist by a beautiful light brown leather strap, which adds a vintage feel to the watch when worn. The case curvature only enhances the ergonomic feel of this expertly balanced piece.

Available here with its original box, this ref. 6850 from the 2000’s is in good condition for a worn piece, with only slight scratching and marking on the case and bezel, along with some slight wear and on the strap itself.

All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
