In 1988 Chopard became the Official Timekeeper for ‘The Mille Migila’, and in doing, created a line of watches to commemorate this famous race. This particular reference is feature-rich and offers both GMT and chronograph functionality. The second time zone is displayed by a fourth hand which references a 24-hour scale engraved into the steel bezel. A standout feature of the watch is the dial, which is finished in a striking sunburst anthracite tone, with sub-registers at 6, 9, and 12 o’clock. A hint of colour is introduced on the red-tipped seconds hand and “1000 MIGLIA” script.

The stainless steel 42mm case wears ergonomically thanks to the aerodynamic feel of the lugs, which hug the wrist nicely. In a watch that pays homage to classic motor cars, you’d expect a good engine inside. It has a mechanical automatic self-winding calibre based on the long-running and well renowned Valjoux 7750. It's rhodium-plated with Cotes de Geneve embellishment. The finishing touch is the emblematic rubber strap evoking the style of the 1960’s Dunlop tires.

The watch shows some signs of wear on the case and strap commensurate with regular wear, and its condition is within the bounds of the seller’s A grading. The sale includes a box.

All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
