KEY FACTS

• Introduced in 1904, the Cartier Santos can lay claim to being the world’s first designated aviator’s watch
• The watch is named after Brazilian aviator, Alberto Santos-Dumont, a personal friend of Louis Cartier who requested the original watch be created as a one-off
• Launched in 1987, the Galbée introduced a more rounded design to the Santos, which has inspired modern versions of Cartier’s iconic aviator’s watch
• This 2000’s example is presented in two tone - the case and bracelet are crafted from stainless steel, whilst the bezel and bracelet screws are fashioned from 18K yellow gold
