Sell it with usFrom a private collector comes a rare Gevril Tribeca watch, nr. 247 out of 500; a homage to the Rolex Daytona. The lot consists of the watch and bracelet, presentation box, warranty card, booklet and swing tag.
This example is modelled after the black Rolex Daytona reference 6263 and it is estimated that less than 20 are known in this configuration among the original production of 500 units made in around 1999.
The watch falls within the bounds of the seller’s rating of ‘A’ condition. The case shows some signs of wear in the form of light scratches and swirls. The black bezel insert has one or two very light scuffs and the bezel shows some signs of light oxidisation.
The 3 colour dial remains in original and factory condition without any blemishing. The hands are free from oxidation or issues and all luminous dots are present, fully intact and show no degradation or discolouring.
The Gevril "G" signed crown and the screw-down pushers and Hesalite acrylic crystal are also in good condition. The Oyster style bracelet and end pieces show signs of wear commensurate with the age of the watch.
The movement that powers this watch is an ETA 2824 with a Dubois & Depraz chronograph module.
Danny Govberg, at the time a shareholder in Gevril: “(the aim) was to create a really fun watch that guys who couldn’t afford a Paul Newman could wear. At the same time, the challenge for us was to build something of the highest quality and, from a sense of detail and dimension, totally faithful to the original.”
All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
