- A rare and highly regarded, contribution to Patek Philippe’s venerable history, the Neptune launched in 1998 and was discontinued in 2005
- The reference was conceived as a midpoint between the ‘Holy Trinity’ Swiss watchmaker’s sports watches such as the Nautilus and Aquanaut, and its dress pieces from the Calatrava line
- The Neptune, also known as the ‘Moonphase Power Reserve’ was available in either stainless steel or 18K yellow gold. Its case diameter is 37mm and it is water resistant to 30 Metres.
- Featuring a ‘droplet’ bracelet with double folding clasp, this 1999 example is crafted from stainless steel and comes paired with a black dial displaying a small seconds counter at four o’clock, a date/moonphase dial at 7 o’clock, and a power reserve indicator positioned between 10 and 11 o’clock
- Beneath the transparent caseback, which is still protected by its original transparent film, beats Patek Philippe’s calibre 240 PS IRM C L U, an automatic movement with a 48-hour power reserve
- This movement is finished with an 18K yellow gold micro rotor engraved with the Patek Phillipe Calatrava Cross
- Offered by a private collector in the United Kingdom
- Presented with its display box, outer sleeve, certificate of origin, booklets, leather document wallet, cloth pouch, bracelet tool, date adjustment tool, purchase receipt, and insurance valuation
- Further additions to the lot include a copy of the Patek Philippe official magazine, two copies of the Patek Philippe Collection book, and a set of links from where the bracelet has been resized
- Graded ‘A’ for condition by the vendor who reports the watch to be in good working order
All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
Any watch not covered by a current sales or service warranty should be considered as potentially requiring a service, even if in full working order on the date of purchase.
