Sell it with usThis 1998 Patek Philippe Calatrava ref. 4809J is offered for auction as a full set. The sale includes the leather box, certificate of origin and booklets. Presented with some marks and scratches on the case commensurate with its age, the condition of the watch falls within the seller’s ‘A’ grading. The vendor has indicated that the watch has been serviced in the past.
The watch features a chic 25mm yellow gold case with the "Clous de Paris" bezel. Using a Rose Engine, the bezel is created by hand, displaying Patek Philippe’s fine finishing and attention to detail. The pyramid-shaped effect has become synonymous with the Calatrava line.
The dial is white lacquered, with black painted Roman numerals and leaf-style hands. Simple in its design, it incorporates a traditional three-hand time-only layout. The movement inside is the Patek Philippe Cal. 16-250, which is manually wound with a 38-hour power reserve.
The simple, elegant Calatrava dress watch has been a constant in the Patek Philippe collection since its introduction in 1932. The model takes its name from the Calatrava cross, an ancient ornate cruciform symbol that Patek Philippe registered as a trademark in 1887.
All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
