This Patek Philippe Nautilus ref. 3800/001 is presented with its display box, certificate of origin, booklets, original leather folder, and spare links. The watch shows some light signs of wear, and is in overall excellent condition. The vendor notes it was serviced in 2019, and it appears to be consistent with their ‘A’ grading for condition.

In the 1980s, Patek Philippe introduced the mid-size reference 3800 Nautilus. It had a reduced diameter of 37.5mm and was intended to appeal to a wider audience. Carrying over many of the original Nautilus design elements, the 3800 saw a continuation of the rounded octagonal bezel and protruding ears.

This example has a stainless steel case and integrated bracelet that is expertly finished with a blend of brushed and polished surfaces. The dial is finished in a rich blue tone with horizontal embossing emblematic of the model line. Adding character and charm to this example is the luminous tritium material in the hands and hour markers, which has faded to a warm patina.

The watch is powered by the calibre 330 SC, which is elaborately decorated with Côtes de Genève across the bridges and 21K winding rotor. The movement is stamped with the Geneva Seal hallmark.

The ref. 3800 is a historically significant model, bringing the Nautilus to a wider audience through its smaller case size, and a wider range of configurations.
