Sell it with usRanking amongst the greats of high-end watchmaking, Jaeger Le Coultre’s now iconic Reverso was originally designed to be smart enough for officers to wear with their formal dress uniforms, but strong enough to withstand the rigours of a polo match.
The legendary swivel case mechanism, with a blank case back that can become a canvas for personalisation, was an idea that helped owners forge a personal link between their watch. Over the years, it has undergone a continuous cycle of reinvention. Following a post-war rediscovery and renaissance which started in 1972, the Reverso has been a staple in the JLC catalogue ever since.
This example ticks many boxes with its stepped rose gold case in classic 23x38mm Reverso proportions. A JLC manual wind movement sits behind a silver dial with extended baton indices and rose gold dauphin hands in a nod to the art deco heritage of the Reverso.
This lot is presented on a black leather strap with JLC signed gold tang buckle and comes with its original guarantee showing that it was first sold in the UK in 1996.
