Sell it with usAuctioned through a trade dealer based in the UK, this 1990s Corum Golden bridge comes with its display box and official paperwork. Some marks and scratches are visible across the watch and wear and creasing can be seen on the leather strap. Its overall condition appears to be within the bounds of the vendor’s ‘B’ grading.
The Corum Golden Bridge measures 32mm across and 50mm lug to lug - its distinctive styling is a lesson in horological expressionism. The tonneau-shaped case is finished in 18K yellow gold, and integrated therein is a crystal which gives a 360-degree view of an intriguing baguette-shaped movement that appears to be floating mid-air. Despite having a flat rear casing, the prism-shaped case provides the wearer with significant comfort and a snug fit thanks to its steep lugs. The watch is attached to a black alligator strap, which is finished with a signed 18K yellow gold clasp.
The watch’s manual-wind movement is its biggest source of visual intrigue and is visible through the crystal's front, rear, and sides. Developed entirely in-house by Corum, calibre 7000 measures a tiny 15mm in length and 5mm in width. This attractive, slim movement is a development of the ‘Golden Bridge’ movement developed by Vincent Calabrese in 1979, and despite its minuscule dimensions, it packs a power reserve of 40 hours.
