SUMMARY

The Basculante is one of the older iterations of Cartier’s iconic model, having debuted back in 1933. In a similar vein to Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Reverso, the case can be rotated (vertically in the case of the Basculante), allowing the wearer to protect the face from damage. However, despite its long history, collectors overlooked this interesting take on the Tank until recently when values started to appreciate its unique design and rotating mechanism. This particular example from the 1990s features the desirable hand-wound Piaget movement.
