One of the most iconic Autavia models produced by Heuer, the 1163T, or the ‘Siffert’ model, has gained huge admiration for its cutting-edge blue and white design, as well as its important connection to famous racing driver Jo Siffert.

Siffert was always the kind of driver who attracted a huge following amongst his enthusiastic fans. He was to win enormous acclaim as a sports car driver of skill and repute. Really it was his attitude which helped endear him to the fans every bit as much as his driving prowess; he had a simple, uncomplicated enthusiasm which was never dimmed by short term adversity. He loved motor racing, straightforward and simple, and he made it his entire life. He was an exciting, sometimes unpredictable, driver to watch, but he always tried hard and radiated a zest for the sport which seemed somehow contagious. The 1163T is a fitting tribute to a great man.

This particular 42mm model stands in fabulous condition for its age. This version incorporates the much revered signed, silver ‘panda’ dial with date, part-polished and luminous filled hands, blue centre chronograph hand, blue accents to the 'ridged' hour markers, two black sunken registers recording hours and minutes, black tachymeter rotating bezel, the 'C' shaped case with signed crown at 9 o'clock and with two reeded pushers at 2 and 4 o'clock, screw down back marked 'Heuer-Leonidas S.A.', signed Cal 11, 17 jewel movement and case No: 141755.

Much of this watch’s appeal resides in the vibrant accents of blue found in the chronograph hand, hours markers and small inserts on the brushed steel hands.

The watch is powered by a Calibre 11 automatic movement and is signed on the bridge. The movement is held within an automatic screw-back case with a brushed finish on top and polished sides. Additionally, the signed ‘Heuer’ crown can be found on the left side, with fluted chronograph pushers located correspondingly on the right.

The likelihood of encountering a ‘Siffert’ Autavia in such condition is becoming increasingly slim in a ferocious vintage Heuer market. Through its rich legacy, striking beauty and growing rarity, this piece will stand at the forefront of any collection.

This Heuer Autavia Siffert 1163T is presented for sale in good overall condition with visible wear to the case, caseback, insert and strap, commensurate with age and authenticity. This is a significant and very rare piece.
