Sell it with usOffered for auction by an established UK-based dealer, this vintage Omega Seamaster Memomatic from 1969 was serviced by Omega Specialists Swiss Time Services in 2013. Despite its age, the watch is within the seller’s ‘A’ grading.Measuring 40mm across (excluding the crown) it is an exceptionally large case considering its age. Oval-shaped with contrasting bright orange details, the Memomatic offers an insight into the direction Omega followed with its designs 50 years ago. The dial and hour markers seem to have not be affected by time, showing minimal patina. With an alarm complication, the Memomatic’s quirkiness is not just in its design but also lies within its mechanical components. Housed inside the case is Omega’s cal. 980, an automatic movement based on the reputable Lemania 2980.First introduced in 1969, this example is one of the first Memomatics to have been produced by Omega. Filling the place that was initially destined for the Chronostop in the Seamaster collection, this ref. 166.072 is a unique looking vintage Omega.
