SUMMARY

Nicknamed the ‘Ultraman’ after its appearance in the Japanese TV show ‘The Return of Ultraman’, the reference 145.012 is born from the same family of the now-legendary Speedmaster Moonwatch worn by NASA astronauts for the 1969 Apollo 13 moon landing. However, the differentiating feature between the cult Ultraman and its more illustrious cousin is the former’s orange seconds hand. Beneath the watch’s screw-down rear casing beats Omega’s calibre 321. Manual-winding, this iconic movement served Omega from 1946 until the late 60s and is still revered today for its durability and performance. Underlining the 321’s credentials is its passing of NASA’s torturous stress tests ahead of the Apollo 13 mission. Testimony to the Ultraman’s cult following was its revival in 2018 with a limited run of 2,012 watches.

All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
