SUMMARY
Launched in 1992 and conceived as a luxury version of the Submariner, the Yachtmaster has evolved to create its own niche within the Rolex range of sports watches. It’s a 40mm watch that wears smaller, and very comfortably, thanks to its 11.6mm height and curved swooping lugs. In many ways, it’s a sports watch that can be pressed into service as a dress piece. That’s because whilst the case and bracelet are in Oystersteel, the bezel is made in platinum which gives it a silvery whiteness and luminosity - and a real sense of luxury. Its striking blue dial, white gold hands and indices, and attractive red accents, plus the chronometer-certified calibre 3235 movement serve up a watch that a growing number of collectors recognise as the most underrated sports watch in the Rolex line-up.
All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
Any watch not covered by a current sales or service warranty should be considered as potentially requiring a service, even if in full working order on the date of purchase.
The description of this auction lot is, to the best of the seller's knowledge, accurate and not misleading.
