Sell it with usOffered by a UK-based dealer, this double-sealed Patek Philippe Nautilus ref. 5990/1R-001 is presented with its display box, outer box, sealed watch box, certificate of origin, date adjustment stylus, spare links, swing tag, booklets and leather folder. The watch’s condition is consistent with the vendor’s ‘AAA’ grading. Patek Philippe’s two-year warranty provides cover until 2024.
Inspired by the original Gerald Genta design from 1972, this contemporary Nautilus features the instantly recognisable rounded octagon shape. The 40.5mm case and integrated bracelet are crafted from rose gold and expertly hand-finished with a blend of brushed and polished surfaces throughout. A screw-down crown affords 120m of water resistance.
The blue dial has a distinctive horizontal embossing that’s become synonymous with the Nautilus model line. The hour markers and hands are crafted from rose gold and filled with Super-LumiNova to provide maximum legibility to the wearer. A skeletonised fourth hand displays a second time zone with local and home time am/pm indicators displayed in small apertures. The chronograph and radial date indicators are symmetrically positioned at 6 and 9 o’clock, respectively.
On the watch’s underside, a sapphire caseback reveals the calibre CH 28-520 C FUS. This automatic movement is elaborately decorated with Côtes de Genève across the bridges and 21K gold rotor.
With its full rose gold construction, travel time complication and chronograph functionality, the 5990/1R-001 represents the ultimate expression of the world’s most desirable luxury sports watch.
