TudorBlack Bay Harrods

The first Tudor Heritage Black Bay was released in 2012, and since then, has come to become a spectacularly popular heritage inspired watch. The Black Bay builds on the iconic dive pieces from Tudor (and its parent company Rolex), in particular from the 50s and 60s, and combines that with modern features.

Limited and special editions of the Black Bay have also been introduced, one of which is the Tudor Heritage Black Bay Harrods, presented for sale here. The special edition 79230G is, as the reference suggests, built on the ‘standard’ Black Bay model. This iteration is built around a 79230 with Caliber MT5602. However…there are significant visual differences.

The watch has a gilt dial, gold markers and hands, and cream-coloured luminous material, most closely seen in the black and red versions. The dial variant here is also telling; the ‘600 ft: 200m’ printing on the dial is shown in green instead of gold. Since it is a Harrods limited edition, it makes sense that Tudor has used Harrods’ iconic green for the text. Similarly, the second hand is tipped in signature green. Lastly, a small detail that you might not notice at first, is that the depth rating has been changed to show “feet first” rather than metres to reflect the Britishness of the Knightsbridge institution.

Both bezel and dial have a rich, matte texture, which perfectly complements the engraved caseback, which is also home to a production number for the watch. This warm, neo-vintage feel also extends to a finely brushed steel bracelet, with faux rivets which was not featured on the original.

This is a handsome, wearable and hugely collectible piece.

This Tudor Black Bay Harrods 79230G is presented in mint condition with immaculate case, caseback, bracelet and bezel. The Tudor box set is as new, and complete with papers, guarantee booklet, user manual and international guarantee. A true full set.
