Offered by a private collector, this Rolex Yacht-Master II ref. 116689 is presented with its display box, warranty card dated 21 September 2021, original receipt, booklets and wallet. Rolex’s five-year international warranty provides cover until 2026. The vendor advises the watch has not been worn and has a factory sticker on the clasp. Its condition appears to be within the bounds of their ‘AA’ grading.

This reference 116689 offers Rolex’s most complicated chronograph movement inside one of the company’s largest cases. Measuring 44mm in diameter, the watch is crafted in the uncommon combination of 18K white gold with a platinum bezel insert. This example also benefits from a 2017 facelift with revised indices and the inclusion of Rolex’s iconic ‘Mercedes-style’ hands. Attached to the case is a white gold Oyster bracelet with polished centre links.

The standout technical feature is the programmable countdown timer designed for regatta sailing. It’s controlled via the “ring command” bezel, which is made from white gold and platinum. Also finished in precious metal are the screw-down crown, pushers and centre links of the Oyster bracelet. Powering the watch is calibre 4161, which offers a 72-hour power reserve and is chronometer certified.

All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
