While the Sea-Dweller was initially designed as a robust, no-nonsense tool watch, its identity has evolved over the years to become more of a luxury item. In 2019, Rolex decided to release a two-tone ‘Rolesor’ version in steel and 18K yellow gold. While some might consider the combination of gold on a hardcore dive watch an oxymoron, this Sea-Dweller carries its precious metal construction remarkably well. The rotating bezel, crown, and bracelet centre links are all fashioned from gold, as are the hands and hour markers on the dial.

To match these warm tones, the ‘SEA-DWELLER’ script is inscribed on the dial in a gold colour. Despite this more opulent aesthetic, the watch still has genuine utility and is equipped with the same impressive 1220m of waterproofness as the all-steel variant. Rolex’s latest generation calibre 3235 movement is housed underneath the screw-down case back, which features a 70-hour power reserve, Chronometer certification, and is tested after casing to a tolerance of +2 to -2 seconds per day.

This example is offered in unworn condition with factory protective stickers in place. Included in the sale are the original box, guarantee, booklet and swing tag. Rolex’s five-year warranty provides cover until 2026.

All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
