RolexExplorer II

Hot off the press, the reference 226570 Explorer II was announced in April to tie in with the model’s 50th anniversary. Despite much speculation about design revisions, Rolex kept the updates subtle but purposeful. The 42mm case has had some excess bulk shaved off the sides, leaving a slightly slimmer and more refined profile. The dial remains largely unchanged except for a matte black finish being applied to the hands and indices, as opposed to the gloss of the previous reference.

Technically speaking, this new reference benefits from Rolex’s latest generation calibre 3285. Shared with the GMT-Master II, this movement features a “Chronergy” escapement delivering increased levels of anti-magnetism and a 70-hour power reserve.

This 2021 example is presented in mint condition and includes the box, guarantee, booklet, and swing tags. Rolex’s five-year warranty covers the watch until 2026.
