The Deepsea Sea-Dweller D-Blue honours James Cameron’s triumphant expedition down to the bottom of the Mariana Trench in 2012. The watch has several aesthetic changes over the regular Deepsea, including a blue to black gradient face and “DEEPSEA” script that has been moved from the top to the bottom half of the dial. This script is also coloured bright green to match the colour of Cameron’s sub. This 2021 example benefits from some key technical and aesthetic updates, which Rolex introduced to the Deepsea in 2018. The case was slightly refined for better ergonomics, and the lug width was increased from 20 to 22mm, to accommodate a wider bracelet. A new movement was also fitted - the calibre 3235 - which offers an increased 70-hour power reserve and is internally tested by Rolex to a tolerance of +2 to -2 seconds per day.

Purchased by the owner in April 2021, the watch is presented in new, unworn condition with the factory plastic protective stickers in place. Also included in the sale are the box, guarantee, booklet, swing tags, and bezel protector. Rolex’s five-year warranty provides cover until 2026.
