Sell it with usOffered by a private collector, this Rolex Daytona was bought overseas new in October 2021 and has never been worn. The watch still has the factory protective plastic stickers in place and comes as a full set including the box, outer carton, booklets, both swing tags, bezel protector, as the warranty card dated January 2021. As the watch still has its stickers in place and has no other marks to the case or bracelet, this is graded as AA by the seller.
The 40mm Oyster case and bracelet of this reference are crafted from 18K yellow gold, providing heft and wrist presence. A fixed bezel displays an engraved tachymeter scale as a nod to the model’s motorsport heritage. The dial is finished in a striking green tone with applied yellow gold indices and hands. The sub-registers are defined by gold chapter rings with red circles inboard providing a subtle splash of colour alongside the ‘DAYTONA’ script. Despite its luxurious specification, the watch has genuine utility with a screw-down crown and pushers offering 100m of waterproofness.
Housed inside the case is Rolex’s long-running in-house calibre 4130. Capable of keeping accurate time to within -2/+2 sec a day, the movement is chronometer-certified and has an impressive 72-hour power reserve.
The green dial Daytona has become something of a cult watch. Already produced in low quantities, its endorsement by musician John Mayer has piqued collectors’ interest and resulted in a rapid increase in values and desirability.
