Sell it with usOffered by a UK-based dealer, this 2021 IWC Portugieser Chronograph ref. IW371609 is accompanied by its box, travel pouch, international warranty card, booklets and tag. The watch has factory stickers on the case back and clasp and its condition appears to be within the bounds of the vendor’s ‘AAA’ grading.
Part of IWC’s latest generation of Potugieser models, the case measures 41mm in diameter with a combination of brushed and polished surfaces. The dial takes cues from historical references with its leaf-style hands and applied Arabic numerals. Recessed sub-registers at 12 and 6 o’clock display the 30-minute chronograph and running seconds.
On the underside, a large sapphire crystal displays the manufacture calibre 69355. This nicely finished automatic movement is equipped with a column-wheel chronograph and a 46-hour power reserve. Attached to the case is a factory black leather strap with a signed IWC deployant buckle.
The Portugieser is an integral part of IWC’s catalogue, with an enduring design that’s remained relatively unchanged since its introduction in the late 1930s. With its large case, slimline proportions, and minimal bezel, this watch is almost all dial on the wrist. As chronographs go, the Portugieser is a remarkably elegant example favouring a minimalist approach to the classic complication.
