Sell it with usTraditionally a sober-looking watch aimed at scientists and technicians, the Milgauss reference 116400GV brings a more colourful interpretation of the model while still maintaining its technical capabilities. Looking at the dial, the bright orange lightning bolt second hand is instantly recognisable and is a nod to the original Milgauss from the 1950s. Orange hour markers at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock continue the colour theme, as do the numbers around the minute track and the name inscribed on the dial. Perhaps the most eye-catching and distinctive design element is the green-tinted sapphire crystal. Unique to the Milgauss, it creates a halo effect around the edge of the glass.
Attached to the case is Rolex’s Oyster bracelet with satin and polished links. The Oysterclasp incorporates Rolex’s Easylink extension for 5mm of tool-free adjustment. A screw-down twin-lock crown provides 100m of water resistance. Inside the case beats calibre 3131, a movement developed for the Milgauss with anti-magnetic properties. It has a 48-hour power reserve, COSC certification and is internally tested by Rolex to a tolerance of +2 to -2 seconds a day.
Purchased by the owner in October 2020, the watch is presented in excellent condition with only minor signs of wear. Also included in the sale are the box, guarantee, booklet, swing tags, and purchase receipt. Rolex’s five-year warranty provides cover until 2025, with an additional five years provided by the Watches of Switzerland Group.
