Sometimes a watch is far more than it seems and the Rolex GMT Master II 126719 BLRO is the perfect example of this. To the casual viewer it’s the iconic, traveller’s Rolex with the distinctive ‘Pepsi’ livery, but to the owner, the reassuring weight and that indefinable sheen tells you that this is not stainless steel, but white gold and the bezel is not anodized aluminium but Rolex’s proprietary Cerachrom ceramic.

Rolex first step into two tone ceramic came with the blue/black ‘Batman’, with the Pepsi only available the following year on the white gold version, but this is not even that watch… The 2 in the model number indicates that this is the latest, upgraded version of the 18k white gold GMT Master.

Now powered by calibre ref. 3285, running at 4Hz with 70 hours of power reserve, the 126719BLRO also receives Rolex’s latest “Superlative Chronometer” rating which is a combination of COSC chronometer rating for the movement before it is cased and a stringent battery of further tests once the watch is assembled, with Rolex promising accuracy to within plus/minus two seconds a day.

This midnight blue dial which was available in the first-generation white gold GMT Master II with the text ‘Swiss Made’ at the 6 o’clock position has evolved. The new reference now displays ‘Swiss ♛ Made’, a subtle change to indicate the enhanced movement within.

This piece is presented for sale in excellent condition with only light marks to the case, caseback and bracelet. The bracelet has had one link removed but this is included in the sale. The full set box and papers is also excellent.

All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
