Sell it with usPorsche Design was founded in 1972 by Professor Ferdinand Porsche, the creator of the 911, and offers a range of design-led and technical products, including the Chronotimer Series 1.
This particular example is based on the original 1971 Chronotimer and has been specified with a lightweight black PVD titanium case - giving it a stealthy appearance and an ergonomic fit. The black dial is highly legible, thanks to the contrasting white hands and subregisters. A red seconds hand adds a pop of colour and adds to the watch’s sporty appeal.
On the underside, a tinted sapphire case back displays a Porsche Design Rotor above the Valjoux 7750 self-winding movement, with a 48-hour power reserve. As is the case with all Porsche Design wristwatches, this Chronotimer combines form and function by effortlessly crossing the bridge between motorsport and horology. Fitted to the watch is a black rubber strap secured by a titanium deployment clasp.
The owner notes that the watch has never been worn, all tags and the factory plastic coverings are in place, these were removed/replaced by the photographer to allow the photography. Included in the sale are the original box, travel box, paperwork and warranty card.
All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
The description of this auction lot is, to the best of the seller's knowledge, accurate and not misleading. Watch Collecting requests a range of detail about the lot from the seller, and performs a level of due diligence. However, bidders must satisfy themselves as to the accuracy of the description, and conduct any research they feel is necessary before committing to a bid.
