Sell it with usThis one-owner Patek Philippe Nautilus ref. 5711/1A-010 was purchased new by the vendor from an authorised dealer in 2020. It’s a full set and presented with the display box, certificate of origin, booklets, leather folder, swing tag and a spare link. The watch is in excellent condition overall, with the only signs of wear being some light hairline marks on the case and bracelet. The vendor has graded the watch ‘A’ for condition and the images appear to be consistent with their assessment.
Based on the original Gerald Genta designed ref. 3700 from 1976, the Nautilus ref. 5711 features a 40mm case with a distinctive rounded octagonal bezel. The integrated bracelet, also in steel, is satin-finished, with polished intermediary links and a fine bevel that extends from the case and down the edge of each link. It’s secured to the wrist via a double deployant clasp. The dial is finished in a dark blue hue, with distinctive horizontal ridges emblematic of the model. The hours are marked by batons filled with Super-LumiNova, and a date aperture is positioned at 3 o’clock.
On the underside of the case, an exhibition back reveals the in-house calibre 26‑330 S C. This movement was introduced into the 5711 in 2019 and includes some updates, most notably hacking seconds capability. It’s expertly hand-finished with Côtes de Genève across the bridges and the 21K gold oscillating weight. Stamped with the Patek Philippe Seal, timekeeping is regulated to -3 to +2 seconds per day.
The 5711/1A was launched in 2006 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Nautilus and has since become the most desirable luxury steel sports watch on the planet. This meteoric rise has been further exacerbated by Patek Philippe's decision to discontinue the model, not before a short run with an olive green dial, and then finally a very limited collaboration with Tiffany & Co., the first of which achieved a startling US$6.5 million at auction.
All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
