WeissAmerican Issue Field Watch

This American Issue Field Watch is offered by a private collector who bought it new from Weiss in 2019. It’s accompanied by a wooden presentation box and all documentation supplied at purchase including the Official Identification card showing the build number. Also included are two straps - one in tan horween leather and the other in blue textile. The seller advises the watch is in excellent working order and its condition appears to be within the bounds of their ‘AA’ grading.

The case is constructed from stainless steel and measures 42mm in diameter. The ‘latte’ or beige dial echoes the look of classic field watches with its highly legible layout. Arabic numerals mark the hours and a minutes track is printed around the perimeter. A small sub-register at 9 o’clock displays the seconds. Large skeletonised hands ensure that no part of the dial is obstructed.

On the watch’s underside, a sapphire case back displays the Calibre 1003. Using a base ETA-Unitas 6497, the movement is finished and assembled by hand at the Weiss workshop.
