ABOUT THIS WATCH
- Since its resurrection in the ‘90s, A. Lange & Söhne has well and truly established itself as one of the world’s finest watch manufacturers
- The Saxonia was one of four models released during the brand’s rebirth
- This particular is example is part of the Lange's Saxonia Thin collection, and represents the brand's thinnest watch to date, at just 6mm in height
- With a 39mm case crafted in white gold, this 2018 release features a special blue dial with a Gold Flux finish
- Also referred to as goldstone, this material looks similar to aventurine and is based on a mixture of silica and copper oxide
- Delivering plenty of ethereal appeal, the crystallised effect emulates the look of a starry night sky and is particularly eye-catching when it reflects light
- It's believed the manufacturing process for Gold Flux is extremely complex and time consuming, with around six dials discarded for every one that's successfully created
- On the flip side, an exhibition case back displays the elaborately decorated L093.1 manually-wound movement, which includes intricate free-hand engraving on the balance cock - a signature of A. Lange & Söhne
- The watch is paired to a black alligator strap
