Released in 2017 from Germany’s premier watchmaker, this classically-styled 1815 Annual Calendar is finished in rose gold and sized for contemporary tastes at 40mm. The dial is made from sterling silver and galvanised to create a silver-white appearance. The annual calendar, moonphase and constant seconds are displayed in sub-registers which are cut and recessed, along with the centre section. In keeping with the model line’s traditional aesthetic, a railroad-style minutes track runs around the perimeter and is complemented by large Arabic numerals in addition to heat-blued hands for the hours and minutes. The watch is paired with a brown alligator strap and a signed rose gold pin buckle. On the underside of the case, a sapphire crystal back displays the expertly finished movement for which A. Lange & Söhne is widely recognised amongst collectors and enthusiasts. The manual wind calibre L051 is elaborately decorated with detailed free-hand engraving on the balance cock and mirror bevelling and Glashütte stripes on the bridges.
A. Lange & Söhne’s 1815 collection pays tribute to the company’s founder Ferdinand Adolph Lange’s and is characterised by classically-styled cases with contemporary elements.
