ABOUT THIS WATCH

• Introduced at Baselworld 2010, the ref. 116610LN defined a new era of Submariner design
• ​It presents in a 40mm stainless steel case which wears with more wrist presence than its dimensions would suggest thanks to large squared-off lugs synonymous with modern Rolex design
• While the Submariner has well and truly moved into the realms of luxury since its tool-watch beginnings, it hasn’t lost any of its utility
• The screw-down trip-lock crown affords 300m of water resistance, and the large white gold indices and hands are filled with Rolex’s proprietary “Chromalight” luminescence for superior legibility
• ​Housed underneath the screw-down case back is the tried and tested calibre 3135; this long-running movement is both Chronometer-certified and tested after casing to a tolerance of +2 to -2 seconds per day.
• The watch is secured to the wrist by a stainless-steel Oyster bracelet
