From a private collector, this Rolex Deepsea James Cameron was originally bought from an authorised dealer in the USA. The sale includes the box, guarantee, booklet and swing tags. Rolex’s five-year warranty provides cover until 2023. Presented with some light marks and blemishes visible on the case and bracelet, it is consistent with the seller’s ‘A’ grading. The seller has indicated that the watch has been serviced in the past.

The watch has several aesthetic changes over the standard model, including a blue to black gradient face and “DEEPSEA” script that has been moved to the bottom half of the dial and coloured bright green to match Cameron’s sub. More than tripling the depth capabilities of the regular Sea-Dweller, its water resistance is rated to an impressive 12,800 feet / 3,900 metres. The Deepsea makes its intentions clear as a robust dive watch with a stainless steel case measuring 44mm in diameter and over 17.5mm thick. Despite the size, Rolex has fitted the watch with a titanium caseback to reduce weight and enhance comfort. The watch is powered by the tried and tested calibre 3135 movement that is COSC certified and has a 48-hour power reserve. The accompanying Oyster bracelet features a Fliplock wetsuit extension and Glidelock clasp, providing the convenience of 20mm of tool-free adjustment.

The Deepsea D-Blue honours James Cameron’s triumphant expedition down to the bottom of the Mariana Trench in 2012. Further enhancing the capabilities of the already hardcore Sea-Dweller diver, it as practical as it is rooted in history.
