SUMMARY
Ressence only started producing watches in 2010 and has made a big impact in a short time. Known for their unique layout and use of oil under the crystal, the watches offer superior legibility and distinctive styling. This Type 5 is an interesting take on the dive watch, offering the brand’s characteristic dial layout, whilst incorporating a more traditional rotating bezel around the perimeter. The 46mm case is finished in lightweight titanium, and despite its larger size, fits ergonomically on the wrist.
On the underside, the case back incorporates another defining feature of Ressence watches - a winding ‘E-Crown’ built into the case back for setting the functions. The all-black oil dial features a regulator layout of sorts, displaying a large minute hand, and several sub-registers; a small seconds, a regulator hour display, and a temperature gauge for the oil. Separated from the oil is the ‘proprietary Orbital Convex System’ which is based on the ETA 2824/2 and is equipped with a 36-hour power reserve.
All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
Any watch not covered by a current sales or service warranty should be considered as potentially requiring a service, even if in full working order on the date of purchase.
