SUMMARY
The Gondolo line is named for the ‘Chronometro Gondolo’ watches created by Patek for the Brazilian jewellers Gondolo & Labouriau in Rio de Janeiro in 1902. Since then, Patek Philippe has adopted this name to define a range of watches with unusual (non-round) shapes and designs. Introduced in 2013 the reference 5200G-001 is presented in an 18K white gold case and takes inspiration from art deco design with its rectangular shape and a distinctive stepped side profile. Despite its dressy aesthetic, the watch boasts impressive everyday functionality thanks to its eight-day power reserve, radial date and day indicator. The sunburst dial introduces a contemporary look and is paired with a matching blue alligator strap. On the underside, the manually-wound calibre 28-20 can be seen through the sapphire case back and is handsomely finished with Geneva stripes across the bridges.
All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
Any watch not covered by a current sales or service warranty should be considered as potentially requiring a service, even if in full working order on the date of purchase.
