Offered by a private collector, this Patek Philippe ref. 5146P-001 is presented with its display box, outer box, certificate of origin, stylus, leather folder and swing tag. The watch shows some light marks and swirls on the case, and some minor creasing is visible on the strap. Its overall condition appears to be consistent with the vendor’s ‘A’ grading.

This second-generation Annual Calendar measures 39mm in diameter - increasing in size from the original reference 5035 that debuted in 1996. Adding to the luxurious feel is the platinum case, signified by the brilliant-cut diamond situated between the lugs at 6 o’clock. The anthracite dial features applied hour markers, with sub-dials displaying the day of the week and month. Sitting below is a moon phase indicator, and date aperture. A small power reserve indicator is situated under the 12 o’clock marker. From all angles, the watch is nicely balanced with the complications laid out symmetrically.

An exhibition case back displays the expertly finished calibre 324 S IRM QA LU movement, elaborately decorated with Côtes de Genève across the bridges and 21K winding rotor. The watch is paired with a factory alligator strap and a deployant clasp with the Calatrava Cross motif.

Originally debuted in 2005, the reference 5146 represents the second generation of annual calendar watches for Patek Philippe. An important piece in the company’s catalogue, the patented movement was invented by Patek Philippe and only requires the wearer to adjust the date once a year.

All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
