CartierSantos 100 XL

This Cartier Santos 100XL was purchased new by the vendor in 2017 and accompanied its box, guarantee papers, operating manual and two RubberB straps. The watch shows some minor signs of wear around the case, and its condition is within the bounds of the seller’s ‘A’ grading.

Presented in stainless steel, the 45mm square case wears comfortably on the wrist thanks to its cambered lugs, which wrap around the wrist. The dial will be familiar to Cartier fans with its silvered face, stylised Roman numerals, and ‘railroad’ inner track. The incorporation of the three chronograph sub-dials gives it a decidedly sporty look. Attached to the case is a factory leather strap balancing out the inherent sportiness of the range. Housed inside the case is the in-house calibre 1904 CH MC, an automatic movement boasting a 48-hour power reserve.

Cartier’s first wristwatch and the world’s first pilot’s watch, the Santos holds a special place in watch history. Continuously evolving with the times – and successfully doing so, this timepiece is the perfect interpretation of what the Santos should look like in the 21st century.
