The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak was introduced in 1972, and marked a revolution within the world of luxury watches. Designed by Gérald Genta, it was the first luxury sports watch to be finished in stainless steel. The Royal Oak is instantly recognisable thanks to its porthole-shaped, screw-down bezel, and integrated bracelet; all design features it has retained since its launch more than five decades ago. In addition to its distinctive aesthetic, the AP Royal Oak is appreciated amongst collectors thanks to its high-quality construction and finish.
