SUMMARY
The Speedmaster Professional is one of the true greats of modern watchmaking, with a timeless design that has changed very little in over 50 years of production. A watch with terrestrial routes that was initially designed for motor racing, it’s become synonymous with space travel and exploration thanks to its long association with NASA and appearances on the wrists of astronauts.
This reference is a modern-day iteration of the “moon watch”, matching the specifications approved by NASA for manned space missions. The 42mm case features a sapphire crystal with a dial designed with legibility in mind and features a matte black finish with contrasting white hands, indices, and sub-dials. Housed inside the case is Omega’s tried and tested manually-wound calibre 1861, which has a 48-hour power reserve and is visible through the transparent caseback.
All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
Any watch not covered by a current sales or service warranty should be considered as potentially requiring a service, even if in full working order on the date of purchase.
The description of this auction lot is, to the best of the seller's knowledge, accurate and not misleading.
