Sell it with usSince his role as orchestrator of the Harry Winston Opus series, Maximilian Büsser has been challenging the way watches tell time for over 20 years. His creations at MB&F have continued this experimental theme, never compromising on the quality of the watches, for the sake of design.
First launched in 2009, the Horological Machine No.3 is the starting point for a collection that expanded into the even more outlandish ‘Frog’ and ‘Megawind’. The time is displayed around the sloping sides of 2 cones, one for hours and the other for minutes. The flattened hour cone has a day/night indicator at the top. The date is displayed around the semicircular left side of the rose gold case. For added drama, the movement is turned upside down, allowing the twin-bladed 22k battle-axe winding rotor to be seen along with the ticking of the balance wheel. A view through the sapphire window of the titanium case back reveals the twin ceramic bearings that transmit the power to the time-display cones. The watch construction abounds with unique details including the tri-lobe screws used to secure the top and bottom of the case.
The movement was designed by Jean-Marc Wiederrecht, winner of the inaugural award for Best Watchmaker at the 2007 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève, from the original concept of Max Büsser and Eric Giroud.
This watch dates from 2014 and is offered with full box and papers. The case shows light marks to the upper surface and to the raised areas of the cones. Clasp has only very light marks and the strap shows only light signs of wear.
All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
