The reference 16610 represents the very last generation of classically proportioned pre-ceramic Submariners. Striking the perfect balance between traditional looks and modern build quality, the watch features a refined case, unlike the squared lugs and oversize feel of modern Rolex sports watches. The watch measures 40mm in diameter and has a uni-directional rotating bezel with a black aluminium insert.

White gold markers and hands are applied to the gloss black dial and filled with Super-LumiNova for superior legibility. An Oyster bracelet is attached to the case and equipped with a FlipLock dive extension for some tool-free adjustment. Housed underneath the screw-down case back is the tried and tested calibre 3135 movement, which has a 48-hour power reserve and is Chronometer certified.

This 2009 example is presented in mint condition and would suit a collector looking for a fine example of this reference. The watch was serviced by Rolex in 2018 and shows no signs of wear. Some protective stickers from the service are still in place. The sale includes a Rolex box, guarantee card, service card from Rolex dated January 2018, swing tags, and anchor pendant - a collectable accessory that Rolex no longer provides with its dive watches.

All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.

The description of this auction lot is, to the best of the seller's knowledge, accurate and not misleading. Watch Collecting requests a range of detail about the lot from the seller, and performs a level of due diligence. However, bidders must satisfy themselves as to the accuracy of the description, and conduct any research they feel is necessary before committing to a bid. Please see our Terms and Conditions for full details.
