SUMMARY
The ref 5800/1A-001 was launched back in 2006 and saw a return to the mid-size Nautilus, after disappearing from Patek Philippe’s catalogue in the early 2000s. Somewhat living in the shadows of its more popular big brother, the 5711/1A-001, it was discontinued after only one year of production, making it a highly sought-after and incredibly rare watch.
In addition to its ergonomic and versatile dimensions, the 38.4mm case remains faithful to the original Nautilus from 1976 with its monobloc construction. This was the only modern reference to do so until the very recent release of the 5811/1G in October last year.
Encapsulating the Nautilus’s blend of elegant and sporty looks, the watch features the trademark rounded octagonal shape case and integrated bracelet. The blue corrugated dial is complemented by applied hours markers which provide high levels of legibility to the wearer. On the underside, a sapphire crystal offers an uninterrupted view of the calibre 330 SC which is expertly finished with a Geneve Seal hallmark and solid gold winding rotor.
All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
Any watch not covered by a current sales or service warranty should be considered as potentially requiring a service, even if in full working order on the date of purchase.
