Sell it with usFor auction through a private vendor, this 2006 Rolex Day-Date is presented with its display box, guarantee document, and instruction manual. Included with the set is also a set of swing tags. Clearly well-loved, there are some visible marks and scratches on the watch’s case and bracelet. Nonetheless, the watch is in good working order and fits within the bounds of the vendor’s ‘A’ grading.
A luxurious alchemy of precious materials, everything about this mid-2000s interpretation of the classic Rolex Day-Date is opulent. Measuring 36mm in diameter, the platinum case houses a silver rhodium diamond dial, which produces a unique sparkling effect under lighting. Meanwhile, platinum baton hands, black roman numeral hour markers, and diamond-studded lugs provide this luxurious timepiece with a further sense of sophistication. As per the Day-Date line, the day sub-register is located at 12 o’clock, and the date window is located beneath a cyclops magnifier at the 3 o’clock position. The watch is anchored to a tasteful platinum ‘President’ bracelet with polished centre links.
The watch is driven by Rolex’s 3155 calibre comprising 31 jewels. This chronometer-certified automatic movement was introduced in 1988 and is widely recognised for its reliability.
As rich in heritage as other instantly-recognisable Rolexes such as the Submariner and GMT-Master II, the Day-Date was introduced in 1956 and was the world’s first watch to display both day and date complications. Very much a staple in the Rolex lineup, this watch is one of the brand’s most-loved models.
All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
