Girard PerregauxR&D01

The late Luigi Macaluso, who chaired Girard Perregaux until his passing in 2010, and who was a big motorsport enthusiast, designed the R&D 01 specifically for racing fans and competitors alike. The watch is feature-rich with a focus on measuring elapsed time for an endurance event. A 12-hour chronograph is displayed uniquely by incorporating centre seconds and minutes for easy reading.

A 24-hour indicator can be seen in the sub-register at 3 o’clock. Turning the watch over reveals the in-house 033-CO calibre. This automatic winding movement features a 46-hour power reserve. Attached to the case and complementing the watch’s aesthetic is a factory rubber strap and deployant clasp.

This 2006 example is presented in good condition with some visible signs of wear and light swirls on the case. The accompanying rubber strap also shows signs of wear. Included in the sale are the box and guarantee.
