ABOUT THIS WATCH
- Introduced in 1989, the Rolex GMT-Master II reference 16710 enjoyed a production run of almost 20 years until it was phased out in 2007
- It's considered the last classically proportioned GMT-Master II thanks its more refined 40mm case with slim lugs that follow the form of vintage examples
- It was also the last GMT-Master II to have an aluminium bezel insert before ceramic was introduced, making it a true end-of-an-era model
- This example is paired with the black and red ‘Coke’ bezel which, alongside the 'Pepsi' alternative, have become model-defining design accents for the GMT-Master
- Beneath the screw-down rear casing beats Rolex’s calibre 3185, a chronometer-certified movement with a 48-hour power reserve and a GMT function
- The screw-down crown affords 100 metres of water resistance, highlighting the versatility of Rolex's professional line of watches
