SUMMARY

The Breitling Navitimer is a true icon of watchmaking and has been produced continuously since the early 1950s. With an aesthetic that’s changed very little over the years, its timeless design is both handsome and functional. The watch has its roots in aviation and was initially designed as an aid for pilots. To this day, it’s still equipped with a bi-directional rotating slide rule that allows the wearer to perform calculations relevant to flying.

This modern iteration, dating to 2005, features a 41.8mm stainless steel case. The dial cleverly incorporates an array of information, including a 12-hour chronograph laid out in contrasting white sub-registers. Moving inside the case, the watch is powered by Breitling’s calibre B23, which is based on the venerable ETA 7753, and is equipped with a 42-hour power reserve.

All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.

Any watch not covered by a current sales or service warranty should be considered as potentially requiring a service, even if in full working order on the date of purchase.

The description of this auction lot is, to the best of the seller's knowledge, accurate and not misleading. Watch Collecting requests a range of detail about the lot from the seller, and performs a level of due diligence. However, bidders must satisfy themselves as to the accuracy of the description, and conduct any research they feel is necessary before committing to a bid.
